Recap: May Day Mayhem In Seattle

Of all things….. You live in Seattle Washington, did you REALLY have to mess up the Starbucks???? o_O

In case you just happen to live in a cave somewhere and didn’t know that a bunch of ninja looking protesters gave downtown Seattle the business on Monday May 1st also known as “May Day”; then I’m here to give you a quick briefing with a few pictures [thanks to my girl Ashle,] to show you a little bit of what went down.

But before I get down to what happened in our lovely Evergreen city, check out the origin of May Day below:

- May Day on May 1 is an ancient Northern Hemisphere spring festival and usually a public holiday;[1] it is also a traditional spring holiday in many cultures. – Via wikipedia

- Workers in scores of nations each year mark the first of May.  Socialists and practicing communists wave red banners in the streets. Throw in a few anarchists and you have the makings of May Day, the traditional International Workers’ Day celebrated around the world. – Via nbcchicago

New Video: Roderic – ‘In God We Trust’

About 10 or so minutes ago, Roderic dropped the music video for his song “In God We Trust” off his newest project “More Is Code.” One thing people will learn about Roderic when they listen to this project is that there is more than one side to him. He has his party side, his sexy side, his sweet side, and right now he’s showing us his deep side. Check out Roderic’s music video for “In God We Trust” above, and download “More Is Code” here!

As artist we sometimes feel the need to give people content based soley on whats popular at the moment. Because of this, we tend to lead people astray from whats real. Even worse we never connect with those who need it most…… With That said; I give you some of my deepest thoughts. #InGodWeTrust - Roderic

TUKWILA: 17-Year-Old Stabs Girl To Death While High Off “Spice”

*rolles eyes*

When I first read about this incident on Komo4 I thought, “damn not another murder in Seattle” but then I watched the video which gives a quick and dirty breakdown about what really happened and then I thought, “how DARE the government allow smoke shops to sell that mess!”

Basically in a Naybesa style nutshell, what happened is, a 17-year-old boy [whose name has not been released] was at a friend’s house in Tukwila Saturday morning where he stabbed a girl to death for a reason that is currently unknown.

The boy [who's in custody] said he spent the night before smoking spice which is a legal synthetic marijuana:

“He said that he had smoked large amounts of what they call ‘spice’ – I believe the name of it is K2. It’s sold at smoke shops all over the place in this state.” – Said the boys Uncle

Seattle: Man Dies During Ravenna Park Shooting

This morning while most of us were either asleep or getting ready for work, police received a phone call around 4:15am about a shooting which became fatal in Seattle’s Ravenna Park.

Police found a 40-50 year old man with a severe gunshot wound in his upper left arm, and was quickly rushed off to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

According to witnesses, there were three people at the scene arguing with the victim.

As of right now, it’s unknown how many shots were fired, and only one suspect has been arrested while the other two are still on the loose.

*sighs* I will be so glad will all these shootings are over. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I expect to one day never hear of another Seattle shooting, however weekly murders are not normal for our city.

Seattle: One Man Stabbed With Screw Driver On Airport Way

Just when I thought that after club fights were over, someone gets stabbed with a screw driver…. SMH

Last night on the  6000 block of Airport Way South, during a two on one fight, one man was stabbed in the back with a screw driver and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

According to the Police, the fight started after a man was asking others if they had an extra cigarette, which is pretty normal for when clubs let out. Soon the man was approached by two very drunk men that were already harassing others throughout the night.

At some point the two drunks chased the man down Airport Way, knocking him to the ground. Seems to me the man on the ground had a not today attitude, because he stabbed one of his attackers in the back and got the heck out of there.

Suspects were found by Airport Way South and Nebraska.

Seattle firefighters responded to the scene and treated the 24-year-old suspect for a minor stab wound to his back. He was then taken to Harborview Medical Center. The second suspect was released to his step-father. Not long after his release, officers ended up arresting him for DV-Assault and Property Damage. – Via Komo4

Police have yet to find the victim.

My thoughts? If you can’t handle your alcohol, don’t get wasted and think you can just randomly jump someone. You never know, you might get a screw driver in your back.
