For some reason I already knew Nicki Minaj had long hair. It truly drives me up the wall to know some people think all Black Women don’t have hair and we “have” to wear these weaves.

Nicki Minaj posted up a quick “length check” with the caption:

“Long hair, don’t care. Hang Time! I’ma wear it out when it touches my ass!”

Personally, being someone who’s hair is at collarbone and goodness knows what in the back, I wear wigs and weaves all the time, why? Because I simply don’t have time to do my hair. Nicki Minaj is forever on the road, doing music videos, and interviews. The last thing she needs is someone frying and dying her hair to where she will soon have none.

With that being said, you may have questions about her butt and nose, but at this point that hair under the wig is legit!

Any thoughts?

Well that was a dumb comment….

A few days ago on The Wendy Show, Wendy Williams invited Mary Alice onto the show to talk about the hit and misses of the Oscars red carpet. When Wendy asked Mary Alice who she thought had the best hair this is what was said:

Mary Alice: I have a feeling you’re not gonna like this but I’m gonna say Viola Davis. You know why? No wig, no weave. I like that she went au naturale.

Wendy *as she rolls her eyes*: All due respect to natural but I don’t wanna see Room 222 flashbacks on the red carpet.

Seeing that Room 222 is a 1969 TV show where Blacks would wear afros still, I’m not so sure how the naturals are going to sit with this. Personally I don’t really care, however I also would never say something like that on TV.

I wonder if she will have a response about her comment later.

“It’s just an everyday hustle, I hate to use that word hustle but that’s the reality of being an independent artist. Hustling you’re moving, there’s no rulebook, there’s no guidelines, there’s no map of how to do what you’re doing.”

I had the amazing opportunity to do a phone interview with the Seattle native KimberlyNichole, which is an interview that when from your typical question and answer to a freak the questions lets just have girl talk situation.

During the interview we talked about Kimberly being on this years 2011 Bet Awards, why she left Seattle, what she wants people to learn about her when they listen to her album ‘The Yellow Brick Journey’ and my favorite part of the interview her natural hair.

Check out the interview above.

Why she left Seattle:

“I’ve always wanted to live in NY when I was a child in Seattle, and I kind of knew after I graduated high school that I wanted to expand my horizons and relocate. I went to two different places, I went to Atlanta and went to college, and then from Atlanta I went to New York”

The message she’s putting in her debut album ‘The Yellow Brick Journey’:

“I just want them to get a personal sense of where I come from, where I’ve been, my leaving Seattle, getting on this path and perusing music. And while on the path falling in love, falling out of love, struggling; I just want people to get a feel and a sense of my journey as it’s been up to date.”

KimberlyNichole admits to being “nervous” before her 2011 BET Awards performance:

So I said I was going to do my “Confessions Of A Curly Girl” in a video form but right about now I dont see that happening so I think I will just type out my thoughts until further notice.

Now….since I hit 1 year natural, I have gotten more and more lazy with my hair. Like it’s been a good 3 weeks [maybe 2 weeks] since I got off my butt and washed my damn hair. And dont get my started on how long its been since I took the time to do a real protein treatment. Like honestly I dont know what my issue is, all I do know is that I dont feel like dealing with my hair at this point.

I think the reason I dont feel like doing my hair is because well… I’m bored with it. I have to be honest with you “newly naturals” when I say that the excitement of being natural wont last forever, well…. at least for me it didnt. I mean after a while I personally realized that its just hair, and to keep is on top of my hair and growing like I want for it to be I have to take care of it…. But that’s about it LOL.
