In February, Ja Rule was released from prison just to get put back in there for another 5 months due to a previous gun charge.
After having his February release from New York state prison turned into a stay in federal prison, it looks like Ja Rule’s freedom is finally in sight. As hoped, Ja’s stay for tax evasion will indeed be a short one, with a planned release date just five months away. According to the Federal Bureau, Ja Rule will be released from Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center on July 28. SOURCE
On the gun charge situation Ja Rule says:
“I in no way attempted to deceive the government or do anything illegal,” Ja Rule told a New Jersey federal court at the time. “I was a young man who made a lot of money – I’m getting a little choked up – I didn’t know how to deal with these finances, and I didn’t have people to guide me, so I made mistakes.” SOURCE
In other Ja Rule News, I heard he dropped his 7th studio album while behind bars, so make sure you all check the out.
Sidenote, yesterday (02.29.2013) Ja Rule was able to celebrate his birthday for the first time in 4 years.
