“I still have a story that hasn’t been told….” – Peta Tosh
I recently had the opportunity to do a “Twinerview” [Twitter Interview] with local 206/253 artist Peta Tosh, after listening to his newest EP ‘Take Off Part 2.’ By the end of the “Twinerview” I’d come to the conclusion we must do a in person interview sooner than later. But until then, find out what Peta Tosh needs when it comes to writing his music, where he gets his inspiration, and what he wants his listeners to get from ‘Take Off PT2′:
Peta Tosh – Real Talk [Alternate Listen Link]
Naybesa: As a whole, I feel like when you listen to “Take Off pt 2″ we get a good sense of who you are and a little of your day-to-day life. What did you want your listeners to get out of this EP?
Pete Tosh: I wanted the people to get more familiar with me and my styles in music, I just wanted it to be a mixtape vibe but still original songs. My last project came out last January, so I owed the people new music, but at the same time wanted to time it right…. They’ll never have to wait a year to get music from me. I’ll be more consistent.
Peta Tosh – Mercy [Alternate Listen Link]
Naybesa: Good to know! My iPod was definitely in need of some new PT.
Your songs “Mercy” and “When No One Cares” are pretty deep songs with lots of confessions. What was going on when you wrote them?
Peta Tosh: Just life you know, nothin too serious, but I express myself on what’s going on or what’s goin on around me. Look out for more of them songs.
I still have a story that hasn’t been told and I’m sure people out there can relate to me.
Peta Tosh Ft Carl Roe & Neema – Black Roses [Alternate Listen Link]
Naybesa: Most definitely! I’m a woman and some of the things you talk about I myself can relate to.
All of your music (for me anyways) is pretty chill and almost, I hate to say it but stimulating “cloud 9″ music. What are 2 or 3 things you need or do while recording?
Peta Tosh: Thank you Nay, and a couple of things would be a piece of mind, nobody around, a good vibe, and good beats I’m simple.
Naybesa: Hey it’s true LOL
Is there anything else you want your listeners to know before or after they listen to “Take Off pt2”?
Peta Tosh: I just want to thank everyone for the support and love. Look out for more projects from me and collabs. I don’t plan on slowing down.
