Exclusive Interview With Troof Be Told
You have to love an artist that wants to change the music scene and make meaningful music, Troof Be Told is one of those amazing artist that makes music that actually means something. Recently I was lucky enough to get an interview in with Troof Be Told, and I must say he is as real as his name.
The name “Troof Be Told” means that you keep it keep it real and tell it how it is; is that how you got your name?
For the most part yes. It started with my family calling me “Troof” as a nick name. Because my lyrics are based on life experiences weather its from my life or something I witnessed.
When did you realize that music was the path that you wanted to take?
Well I started music very young but got really serious with it right out of high school.
Have you had the pleasure of working with and well known artist, if not who would you want to work with?
I’ve worked with Teddy Riley but nothing was ever released. I would like to work with anyone. Im influenced by all types of music so the list goes on and on.
You song “Call Girl” will make girls wish you were talking about them, how did you get the inspiration for that song?
Honestly I just walked into the studio and my producer “Mind Touch” pretty much had the beat finished and I just wrote all the lyrics based upon what I felt at that moment. And it ended up being a banger
I read that you make all your beats, is this true?
No I don’t make all my own beats. I work very closely with my producer “Mind Touch” to help structure every part of my music.
I noticed that you have a Blog of your own what made you decide to start one up?
I wanted to stay more connected with my fans so I thought creating a blog would help show what I’m interested in.
When I look at your pictures they scream “model” is that something that you also do on the side or was you just blessed with the gift of taking good pictures?
It was just something I fell into. Music comes first but its always nice to dabble in other things.
“Before The Music Ends” is a very interesting title for your Mixtape, how did you come up with that title?
The music industry has been in a bad state financially because of record sales. I also feel its in a bad state because of artist music has no substance and lacks the creativity. So there for I thought it was relevant to title my mixtape “Before The Music Ends”.
Now I know that “Before The Music Ends” volume one came out not too long ago but can we expect a “Before The Music Ends” volume two coming soon?
Yes, Im constantly in the studio recording to various songs so its pretty much finished already. But first I plan on releasing my EP titled “Call Girl”.
And last but not least, I must do this question for the ladies. Are you seeing anyone right now or is your main focus music?
My main focus is always music. But I do have someone special in my life.
You can check out Troof Be Told on Myspace, Twitter, on his very own Blog, and YouTube. But in the mean time in between time you should download his Mixtape “Before The Music Ends” HERE and let me know what you think, but take it from me, your going to love every song.
